Break Up With Your Boyfriend

It is such a terrible and sad moment when a relationship seems to be on the rocks and you are dumped by your boyfriend. Certainly you will feel sad, angry and rejected. It is a disaster time in your life to be dumped by the person you so deeply love. If you are dumped, the feeling of pain and confusion that you experience, especially if it is unexpected, can only be imagined.

1. He doesn’t support your goals

A truly supportive boyfriend should act as your own professional cheer squad – that means everything from coming to watch your volleyball championship game to sending you a good luck text before your orgo final, even if he hates sports and is equally as swamped with studying.

2. He doesn’t make an effort to get along with your friends

In a perfect world, your best friend and your boyfriend would love each other just as much as you love them. While that’s not always the case, your boyfriend should at least make an effort to get along.

3. He hates all the guys you hang out with.

Sure, it’s cute when the boyfriend gets a little jealous of the guys you hang out with. But it’s not okay if he stops you from seeing your guys friends, just because he’s insecure they’ll snatch you up. It’s also NOT fair if you stop seeing your friends because your boyfriend says you shouldn’t.

4.  Every relationship needs a certain amount of kindness, compassion and compatibility but if you have been fighting little power struggles with him at all times, you should give up on the relationship.

5. He doesn’t seem to put any effort into the relationship

After the first initial ‘honeymoon period’, all relationships will drift into a ‘more stable stage’. But that doesn’t mean it has to be boring. It doesn’t mean you should stop putting an effort into it.

There are normally some warning signs to tell you that the relationship is not working. And staying in a relationship that’s not working is ultimately a waste of time. So even if it’s very hard, there are times when you need to recognise the signs you should dump your boyfriend.
